As I have always suspected - I am a trend-setter. It has been brought to my attention that Michelle and I have started lots of our friends thinking about their lives and as if by magic the proposal stories are all over the place. Firstly and foremostly I would like to mention my long term friend and general good-egg Andy Farrow. He got engaged to his prospective lady on Valentine's day. I know, I know - it's a bit cheesey to get married on the cheesiest day of the year, but how's about cutting the guy some slack eh? I'm sure that it didn't play out like one of those cliche filled proposal scenes from some junk American film. We all know the most romantic scene possible incorporating 2 people came in Crocodile Dundee anyway, I don't know why they keep bothering, but anyway - Congratulations ANDY!! Also my old school friends Nik Scott and Aaron Dembski-Bowden have recently popped the question to their respective partners. I don't remember having met either of them, but I'm sure they're just dandy. Best of luck to all of you with your planning and whatnot, it's a very exciting time :)

I would like to include a couple of videos which demonstrate how to propse properly:

Last week Michelle, Donna, Thomas and Peter went to a wedding fair here in Luton to look at wrapping up the last few bits and bobs that might be required before it gets too late. Chair covers have now been very kindly arranged and I believe Michelle is looking at wedding dresses in the coming half term. Aparently the groom is not allowed to have any part in the wedding dress process. Whilst I'm all for tradition, I wanted to ensure everyone knows a stylish wedding dress when the see it. For this reason I have included some fantastic examples of fashionable and indeed very wearable wedding dresses that I think we can all agree would be fantastic for michelle on the day...

It is now 6 months to go until the wedding. Almost exactly. Certain guests have suggested that this means there is only 6 months left for them to learn how to windmill. Whilst I sppreciate their efforts - I have no idea really what is actually involved. I have Dutch relatives and so 'windmilling' takes on a slightly different meaning for me. Because of this I decided to do some research before posting and in order to be as helpful as possible have posted a video of my practice. It doesn't look that much like me on the video - this is due to um.. poor lighting :)

It has been brought to my attention that certain members of the wedding party having been voting for THEMSELVES on the 'who's the best' poll. Whilst in my case this is perfectly acceptable anyone else caught doing this will be punished at the wedding. Phil, that's you I'm talking to - Big Brother sees and hears all, you have been warned.

It is now 2010, which as you all know is the year of our wedding. It's getting very exciting now and if you consult the little day ticker thing to the right you will see that there are in fact less than 200 days left to go until the big day. Michelle has instructed me to start designing the wedding invitations (please note fantastic range of bespoke wedding stationery designs available from www.49thfloor.co.uk) so keep your eyes peeled and you letterbox opening skills frosty.
